Compensation: $18.00 per hour.

Employment Type: Full-time & Part-time positions available.

About SMI: SMI is a leading security services provider, dedicated to delivering exceptional safety and peace of mind to our clients. We are seeking highly professional and dedicated individuals to join our team and secure a prestigious new luxury high-rise building in the vibrant Edgewater area.


Job Summary: SMI is looking for a highly motivated, professional, and customer-service-oriented Bilingual Security Officer to join our team at a new luxury high-rise residential building in Edgewater. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English, demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and security, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism. This role requires an individual who is physically capable of prolonged standing and walking, possesses exceptional report-writing abilities, and presents a clean-cut, professional appearance. Flexibility to work weekends is a must.


Key Responsibilities:


Access Control and Visitor Management:

  • Greet all residents, guests, and vendors with a warm and professional demeanor.
  • Verify identification and credentials for all individuals entering the property.
  • Manage visitor logs and issue temporary access passes as per building protocols.
  • Direct visitors appropriately and provide clear instructions.

Patrol and Surveillance:

  • Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the property, including common areas, amenities, and parking facilities.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and address any suspicious activities or security breaches.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms and emergency situations.

Emergency Response:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for residents and staff in emergencies.
  • Implement established emergency procedures, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, and evacuations.
  • Coordinate with emergency services (police, fire, EMS) as needed.

Customer Service Excellence:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, guests, and staff, addressing inquiries and concerns in a helpful and professional manner.
  • Anticipate and respond to the needs of residents, fostering a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Maintain a polite, approachable, and respectful attitude at all times.

Report Writing and Documentation:

  • Prepare clear, concise, and detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
  • Accurately record all relevant information, including dates, times, individuals involved, and actions taken.
  • Maintain organized and accessible records for future reference.

Maintain Professionalism and Appearance:

  • Present a clean-cut and professional appearance at all times, including a clean shave and adherence to uniform standards.
  • Maintain a high level of personal grooming and hygiene.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 8-12 hours per shift).
  • Ability to walk for extended periods, covering large areas of the property.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to climb stairs as needed.


Team Collaboration:

  • Work effectively as part of a security team, collaborating with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Communicate effectively with building management and staff regarding security matters.


Adherence to Policies:

  • Strictly adhere to all company policies, procedures, and post orders.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to security services.


Qualifications:

  • Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in both Spanish and English (verbal and written communication). This is a mandatory requirement.
  • Experience: Previous security experience, particularly in a luxury residential or hospitality environment, is highly preferred.
  • Customer Service Skills: Proven track record of providing excellent customer service.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Report Writing: Strong ability to write clear, concise, and detailed reports.
  • Professionalism: High degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Flexibility: Must be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Appearance: Must maintain a clean-cut and clean-shaven appearance.
  • License/Certification: Valid Florida Class D Security Officer License is required. (If not currently held, willingness to obtain immediately upon hire is expected).
  • Background Check: Successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
